Billing and your plan
What your plan includes, and how many credits you have this plan year.
Before you start: only owners see Billing. See Users, roles, and your account.
See your plan
- Click Billing in the sidebar, or click the credits chip in the top bar and then Plan and billing.
- The top of the page shows your Plan, its Status, how it's Paid (by card through Stripe, or invoiced by EngageCycle), its Price, and your Plan year.
Until buying online is open for your business, Billing asks you to contact EngageCycle to change your plan or add credits.
Choose or change your plan
When buying online is open, Billing shows the plans side by side, with what each includes and costs a year.
- Click Choose under the plan you want (for example Choose Starter).
- Pay on Stripe's secure page. EngageCycle never sees your card number.
- You come back to Billing. Your plan and its credits for the year show up within a minute.
To move to another plan later, click Change to under it:
- A bigger plan starts right away. The difference for the rest of your plan year is charged to your card on file, and your credits for the year are topped up to the new plan's amount, less what you've already used.
- A smaller plan starts at your renewal date. Billing says so until then. Choosing your current plan again keeps it.
Enterprise is set up with EngageCycle directly: click Contact EngageCycle.
Buy packs
On a plan that sells packs (Ad hoc), Buy packs adds credits when you need them.
- Under Buy packs, choose how many under Packs. Each choice shows how many credits it adds.
- Click Buy packs and pay on Stripe's page.
Each pack is good for 12 months from when you buy it, and the soonest to expire is used first.
Overage
When you run out, the credits menu in the top bar and the confirmation offer Raise your cap (on Starter, Professional, and Firm) or Buy a pack (on Ad hoc).
On Starter, Professional, and Firm, credits past your plan's included credits are overage: each costs your plan's overage price, up to your overage cap for the plan year.
- Stripe charges your card for overage monthly, and early whenever $100 of it hasn't been billed yet.
- A batch that would pass your cap, or bring unbilled overage to $100, is paid for before any of it sends. The confirmation says how much, and the button says Pay ... and continue. If the card is declined, nothing sends.
- To change your cap, enter a number in Your overage cap under Overage on Billing and click Save cap. You can choose any cap up to your plan's maximum (Starter 50, Professional 100, Firm 200); to go higher, contact EngageCycle. Until your first payment goes through, the cap is 25.
- A proposal withdrawn before the client opened it gives its overage back.
- Live offers keep taking requests while overage is within your cap. Once you reach the cap they pause new requests, since a prospect can't be asked to pay; owners get a notice for each offer, and the offer's page says so. Raise the cap to open them again.
A scheduled campaign batch pays on its own only for overage within your cap. One that would pass your cap waits, and you get a notice: send that batch by hand to confirm the charge, or raise your cap.
Packs and auto-reload (Ad hoc)
Ad hoc is prepaid. When a send needs more credits than you have, the confirmation offers to buy the packs it needs and charges your card first. If the card is declined, nothing sends.
Click Turn auto-reload on under Buy packs to buy a pack with your card on file whenever your credits run out. It's off unless you turn it on. Without it, a scheduled campaign batch waits when you're out. From your fourth pack in a plan year, Billing points out when Starter may cost less.
When a payment fails
If a payment to EngageCycle fails, Stripe tries the card again and emails you. Meanwhile new sends are held, and every page says so. Proposals you already sent, signing, and signed copies keep working, and a campaign batch never stops part-way. Update your card with Card, invoices, and canceling; once the payment goes through, sending resumes and held batches go on their next turn.
Renewal
Your plan renews once a year and your card on file is charged. Billing shows the date, and you get a reminder 30 days and 7 days before. If the credits you used this plan year fit a cheaper plan, the reminder and Billing say so.
Moving to a smaller plan
A smaller plan starts at your renewal date, and the renewal is charged at its price. If it includes fewer live offers than you have, Billing asks which stay live: tick them and click Save which stay. If you don't choose, the newest are paused first. Paused offers keep their links and leads, and you can resume one once you have room. Webhook endpoints past the new plan's number stop receiving events, and nothing is deleted.
When your plan ends
If you cancel, or a payment still fails after Stripe's retries, your plan ends at the end of the period. New sends are held and every page says so. Proposals you already sent, signing, and signed copies stay available. Choose a plan on Billing to keep sending.
Card, invoices, and canceling
Click Card, invoices, and canceling to open Stripe's page for your account: change the card on file, see and download invoices, or cancel at the end of your plan year.
Payments on Billing lists your latest payments to EngageCycle (plan, packs, and overage). Invoices and receipts are on Stripe's page.
Credits
Credits shows how many you've used and have left this plan year, any overage, what's included, any extra packs and when they expire, and what happens when credits run out. A credit is used the first time a proposal, engagement letter, consent, or walkthrough reaches a client. Click What's a credit? on the card for the full definition, or see What's a credit? and Credits.
What your plan includes
What your plan includes lists each feature (Webhooks, REST API, MCP server, and Live offers, plus others such as Multiple signers once they're on for you), what you have of it, and where it comes from:
- Your plan: part of your plan.
- Add-on: something added on top of your plan.
- Set by EngageCycle: changed for your business by EngageCycle support.
