Getting started
A checklist for your first day: what to set up, in what order, so your first proposals go out looking right.
Each step links to the article with the details. Most take a few minutes. Owners can do every step; staff can do the ones marked in each article.
Before you start
- Sign in and set up two-step verification. See Two-step verification.
- Have a list of your clients handy, such as an export from your other software or a spreadsheet saved as CSV.
- Know the services you sell and roughly what each costs.
Your first day checklist
- Add your business details and logo. Your business name, the sender name clients see, your address, and your logo and colors. See Business and Branding.
- Set up email. Choose how proposal links, reminders, and signed copies reach your clients: send with EngageCycle, your own email account, or your Microsoft 365 or Gmail mailbox. Then send yourself a test. See Email.
- Add your team. Invite the people who'll build and send proposals. See Add a user.
- Import your clients. Upload a CSV, or add a few by hand to start. Include what each client paid last time if you have it: campaigns use it to work out this year's price. See Import clients from a CSV.
- Fill in your catalog. Add the services you sell and their prices, or start from the suggested ones. See Add a service.
- Save a preset or two. If you send the same set of services often, save it as a preset so each proposal starts from it. See Presets.
- Publish a template. Start from a starter look, change the wording to sound like you, and publish it. See Make a new template and Publish a template.
- Send a test proposal to yourself. Add yourself as a client with your own email, build a proposal, preview it, and send it. Open the email, look at it on your phone, and sign it. You'll see exactly what your clients see. See Creating and sending a proposal.
- Reach your clients. Pick the one that fits:
- A campaign sends a personalized proposal to many existing clients at once, each worked out from what they signed last time. See Create a campaign.
- An offer is a public link, QR code, or website embed where new customers answer a few questions, see a price, and sign. See Create an offer.
Optional, when you're ready
- Connect your other tools. Send each signed proposal to your practice software, CRM, or automation with a webhook. See Integrations.
- Sign in with Google or Microsoft. See Signing in with Google or Microsoft.
- Send agreements and consents on their own. See Documents.
- Copy someone, or ask more than one person to sign. See Signers and copied people.
Good to know
- The Dashboard has a Getting started list too. Owners see it until every step is done or someone clicks Dismiss. It has five steps: your business details and logo, a template, your clients, how links reach your clients, and your first campaign. It ticks each step itself as you set things up. Set up how links reach your clients ticks once a test email to yourself has worked (step 2 above), or once you've added a webhook with its signing secret. The starter templates that come with your packs are already published, so Publish a template starts ticked.
- Your test proposal uses a credit the first time it reaches you, like any other. See What's a credit?.
- Stuck? Click the Help button in the top bar, then Send feedback. See Sending feedback.
