Presets
A preset is a saved set of services, packages, add-ons, and prices you can start a proposal from. This page covers making presets, starting proposals and campaigns from them, and editing or archiving them.
Presets, templates, and the catalog
- Catalog: the services you sell and their prices.
- Presets: services from the catalog, put together the way you often sell them, for example "Standard plus add-ons". They live under Catalog > Presets.
- Templates: how a proposal looks and reads. Templates don't set prices.
A proposal started from a preset gets its own copy. Changing a preset never changes proposals already sent, or drafts already started from it.
Save a proposal as a preset
If you'll build similar proposals again:
- Build the proposal in the builder.
- Click Save as preset under the summary.
- Under Name this preset, type a name and click OK.
The client isn't saved with it, only what's on the proposal.
Make a preset from scratch
- Open Catalog and click the Presets tab.
- Under New preset, type a name and click Create.
- Add packages, items, and add-ons in the builder. It saves as you go.
A new business already has a few presets named (starter), one for each starter template its packs brought, so the list isn't empty at first. Change, archive, or ignore them. If you have none (for example after archiving them), the page says "No presets yet. Build a proposal you send often, then choose Save as preset."
Start a proposal from a preset
- Start a new proposal for a client (see Creating and sending a proposal).
- Under Start from a preset, pick the preset. Or, under Start from scratch, pick An empty proposal.
- Click Build the proposal, then change anything you need for this client.
Start a campaign from a preset
In a campaign's What section, pick one under Or start from a preset and click Use it. The campaign's starting build becomes a copy of the preset, and the preset stays unchanged. See Campaigns.
Edit or archive a preset
- Open Catalog > Presets and click the preset's name.
- Change what you need. It saves as you go.
- To stop offering it, click Archive under the summary, and confirm. Proposals already started from it keep their copy.
To see archived presets, click Archived at the top of the list. Click Restore to bring one back.
Preview a template with a preset
In the template editor and on a template's full-page preview, Preview as: shows the samples, with your presets beside them under or a preset. Pick one to see the template with its packages and prices.
Good to know
- Presets copy, they don't link. Editing one later reaches only proposals started after the change.
- Catalog price changes don't reach presets. A preset keeps the prices it was saved with, like a proposal.
- Templates that still set their own prices show a Move prices out of templates card on Catalog > Presets. Each template's packages and prices move into a preset you review first. Only an owner can start the move and approve it. The card goes away once no template sets its own prices.
